Figuring out why Black Sesame Mochi from Whole Foods tastes so darn good...
If the likes and sensibilities of B.D. Wong, Alex Wong (SYTYCD), and David Henry Hwang had a brainchild, this guy would be it. Mark Andrew Garner is your edgy, yet earnest alternative to the typical song and dance man that you see on stage or screen.
While making New York City his home for half a decade, he has met the challenging demands of dancers on film and musicals whether it's working with Emmy Award winning choreographer AC Ciulla in Love is a Broadway Hit (dir. Peter Lee), tumbling and sword fighting as the fierce some bandit Flying Tiger in Romance of the Western Chamber (TADA! Theater), or conjuring some Disney magic as Neleus, the talking statue, in Mary Poppins at Alabama Shakespeare Festival. Some of his favorite roles include Seymour in Little Shop of Horrors; Angel in Rent, Ching Ho in Thoroughly Modern Millie, N.A.A.P.’s Oliver! with Baayork Lee, and Swing/Young Max understudy in the national tour sit-down of How the Grinch Stole Christmas at the Grand Ole Opry.
As a proud AEA member, SAG eligible candidate, and long hair that'll make even Jason Momoa jealous, Mark is poised and ready as he and his fellow Asian-Americans take the forefront in the Broadway and Hollywood industry.
(Oh, and did he mention he can do a back handspring in his LaDucas heels?)
